WCF leverages common ground to build good government at all levels using 100% of America’s talent, wisdom, and skill.
WCF is an advocacy group that commits to 50/50 representation by women and men in elected offices nationwide by 2028.
We are people from all political parties who believe government works best when America is represented by 100% of the available talent, wisdom, and skill – 50/50, men and women, like the population.
WCF also operates the 50/50 PAC for women candidates. Not just any women. Women with the proven ability to reach common ground solutions.
WCF supports women candidates who demonstrate strength in three areas:
America has a lot of work to do!
The Women's Campaign Fund has a long history of working for women. Since 1974, WCF has helped a lot of women get elected to Congress and they often say we were the first to give them a big boost.
One thing many of us know – and science confirms – is that success comes through adaptation. Adaptation to the world, the times, the people around us. We all know times have changed dramatically in the past few years.
WCF realized in the last election cycle that fewer and fewer Republican women were running for office and that is not acceptable. WCF saw Democratic and Republican women targeted for their belief in things that are quite simply the law of the land. We saw women struggling to reach across party lines and work for the good of all people, of women, men, and families. Now, as individuals, we find ourselves living in a world in which people at the playground, the church hall, even the dinner table find it difficult to have civil conversations with each other about civil matters.
Something has to give.
In 2017, the Women's Campaign Fund adopted a bold, new approach. Rather than focus on issues, WCF decided to focus on the underlying platform for solving them.
First, we addressed the numbers. The population is made up of men and women in roughly equal numbers. Few issues are exclusive to men or women. 50/50 representation of women and men in elected office means the experiences of both are better represented.
Next, we addressed the skill set. WCF supporters are women and men who may have a variety of opinions on issues like abortion and reproductive health, yet also are passionate about the natural world, voting, education for our kids, senior security, healthcare… Our nation is worse off for acting as if all these concerns are not connected, for behaving as if each can be resolved in the silos that have become our comfort zones. WCF supports women candidates who demonstrate they have the goods to reach common ground.
Diversity and inclusion are essential components of America’s history and its leadership on the world stage. Both continue to be essential if we are to fulfill the true promise of democracy. WCF feels it can best support each by focusing on achieving 50/50 representation, the most fundamental step toward strengthening the platform on which all issues and rights are decided.
When 100% of America is represented by 100% of the available talent, wisdom and skill, we have a stronger foundation for figuring out what’s in the best interest of all. When more of the people we elect are common ground experts, we can make better policy. Better laws. Be better represented in the decisions that shape our lives. Our liberty. Our pursuit of happiness.
Invest with us in that future.
