Game Changer: Charniele Herring

As a woman of color, who was born in the Dominican Republic to a U.S. military family, and was homeless as a teenager, Charniele brings a very unique perspective to Richmond. Charniele has chaired the Virginia State House Reproductive Rights Caucus and has stood as a strong voice for Virginia women and their families.

Virginia House of Delegates – Virginia’s 46th District – Incumbent. Virginia is a battleground state for reproductive health issues, and Charniele is one of the strongest pro-choice advocates in the State House.

Charniele is currently the Virginia House Delegate for Virginia’s 46th district.

Charniele was elected in 2009 and currently serves as the Democratic Whip.

Charniele formed the Virginia Legislative Reproductive Health Caucus and served a term as its chair.
