WCF Difference
-
Early
We understand the importance of supporting women at the earliest stages of their race, when that support is most needed.
-
At All Levels
We support women leaders at all levels of government - and we do mean all. From school board to Congress, women are needed at all levels to make a positive difference in their communities.
-
Bipartisan
We support women leaders on both sides of the aisle who support women.
-
Bold
We are not bound by party politics or conventional thinking. We are uncompromising in our vision of more women in government and are willing to challenge the status quo to achieve it.
-
Diverse
We want a truly representative government that reflects the diversity of our country, including women of color, LGBT women, and young women.
Meet our President/CEO: Siobhan “Sam” Bennett

Sam joined WCF as President/CEO in April 2009.
Prior to joining WCF, Sam challenged incumbent Congressman Charlie Dent in 2008 for Pennsylvania’s 15th Congressional District. Though ultimately losing the race, she obtained more votes than any other Democratic candidate in the district’s history and raised more money than any local Democrat had ever raised for that seat.
In 2004, Sam served as Lehigh Valley Regional Field Director for the now-defunct America Coming Together (ACT), a 501(c)4 non-partisan voter registration group. Her leadership was showcased in the award-winning documentary “Hollerback.” In 2001, Sam first ran for political office and nearly defeated a long-term state senator in the Allentown mayoral race. Prior to politics, Sam was a Fortune 500 corporate executive.
Sam’s interest in creating organizations that spark political and community involvement runs deep. In 2012, she was instrumental in the founding of Political Parity, a historical non-partisan collaboration of women’s organizations focused on electing more women to office. In addition, Sam founded and has led for over 20 years Properties of Merit, a non-profit organization that works to spur citizen involvement and “bottom-up” private and public investment in the critical work of revitalizing communities. Under Sam’s leadership, the organization has grown into a highly successful statewide program, supported by foundations, private donors and corporate partners, including The Home Depot.
Sam is a regular guest on Fox News’ America News HQ, Fox News Radio, Thom Hartmann’s The Big Picture, PBS’s To The Contrary, POLITICO’s Arena, and has appeared on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews and CNN International. Click here to read the full list of Sam's media appearances.
Sam graduated SUNY Oneonta in New York as a Regents Scholar. She currently lives in Allentown, PA with her husband and 10-year old son. She has two adult daughters who live in California and New York City. Sam continues to be actively involved in politics, serving as the elected Chair of the Allentown City Democratic Committee and 1st Vice-Chair of Lehigh County Democratic Committee, in charge of “Get Out the Vote” (GOTV) operations county-wide.
