We understand the importance of supporting women at the earliest stages of their race, when that support is most needed.
At All Levels
We support women leaders at all levels of government - and we do mean all. From school board to Congress, women are needed at all levels to make a positive difference in their communities.
We support women leaders on both sides of the aisle who support women.
We are not bound by party politics or conventional thinking. We are uncompromising in our vision of more women in government and are willing to challenge the status quo to achieve it.
We want a truly representative government that reflects the diversity of our country, including women of color, LGBT women, and young women.

WCF Applauds Sonia Sotomayor’s Confirmation for the Next Woman Supreme Court Justice
Washington, D.C. – Siobhan “Sam” Bennett, President/CEO of WCF, released this statement about Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation to the Supreme Court:
“This is a thrilling and historic day for women, the Supreme Court, and America. We are proud to see the day when a Latina will sit on our country’s highest court. Out of the 110 Supreme Court justices since the Court’s beginning, 108 have been male, and Sotomayor will be only the third woman to serve.”
“It is essential for the long-term health of our nation that women possess an equal voice in all branches of our government, and the confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court is an important step toward that goal.”
“Sonia Sotomayor will bring more legal experience to the Supreme Court than any justice has before her. She has been commended for her unique expertise and the ability to understand how law affects the daily lives of Americans. Throughout her confirmation hearings she has demonstrated her fair-minded approach and commitment to the law.”
"The fact that our current Court holds seven men and only one woman is unacceptable. WCF commends President Obama for choosing a skilled female justice who will begin to even out the gender disparity on the bench."
“We send our most sincere congratulations to Sonia Sotomayor. We know Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be glad to see her, as will the rest of America.”
