Krystal BallKrystal Ball is running for Congress in Virginia’s first district, where she was born and raised. Ball is an accountant, entrepreneur and a mother. She has extensive international business and travel experience as an educational software consultant and designer. As a Congresswoman, Krystal will promote economic recovery, environmental sustainability, and educational excellence. Karen BassKaren Bass is running for congress in California’s 33rd District. Bass made history in 2008 as the first Democratic woman to serve as Speaker of the California Assembly and the first African American woman in the country to lead a state legislature. Under Bass’ leadership, the Assembly fast-tracked legislation to jumpstart infrastructure projects and create new jobs. Bass’ legislative efforts have also reduced the number of high school dropouts, decreased the number of foster youth, and curbed recidivism. A former nurse and physician’s assistant, Bass founded Community Coalition, a community-based social justice organization in South Los Angeles. Heather BeavenHeather Beaven is running for U.S. House of Representatives in Florida (7th District). While serving in the U.S. Navy, Beaven earned the Navy Achievement Medal for her service during Operation Desert Storm. Beaven also taught Prevention of Sexual Harassment workshops while in the Navy. At the age of 28, she became the youngest Gubernatorial Appointee in Kansas history as the Division Director for the Division of Employment and Training. Beaven currently serves as the CEO of the Florida Endowment Foundation for Florida’s Graduates—her programs delivered a 97% graduation rate. As a member of Congress, Beaven will use her experiences as a sailor, mother, educator, and innovator to revitalize the education system, create jobs, and care for our veterans. Paula BrooksCommissioner Paula Brooks is running to represent Ohio’s 12th District in U.S. Congress. She has served on the Franklin County Board of Commissioners since 2005 and is currently President of the Board. In 2000, Brooks was appointed by the Secretary of Defense as a 3-star civilian Advisor on the Federal Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services (DACOWITS), where she advised the Department of Defense on troop readiness and military families. Brooks' leadership has also included service as President of the Ohio State Bar Foundation, Action for Battered Women in Ohio, and membership in the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club. Francine BusbyFrancine Busby is running for Congress in California’s 50th district. After a career with Walt Disney Travel in tourism and marketing, Busby served on governing boards of numerous community organizations including acting as the founding President of the Casa Teresa Central Guild and as President of the Cardiff Education Foundation. Elected as the President of the Cardiff School Board, Busby's steady, firm hand guided the district through significant positive changes which affected hundreds of families. Following this, Busby ran for Congress as a grassroots candidate in 2004 against incumbent Randy “Duke” Cunningham because of her concern about the direction of our country.   Robin CarnahanSecretary Robin Carnahan is running for U.S. Senate in the state of Missouri. Serving as the Missouri Secretary of State since 2004, Carnahan has worked tirelessly to help small businesses, crack down on big financial institutions, and safeguard the integrity of elections. Carnahan has been a leader in ensuring fair elections. Tarryl ClarkSenator Tarryl Clark
is running for Congress against incumbent Michele Bachmann in Minnesota's 6th District. Clark has served in the Minnesota Senate since 2005 and has been the Assistant Majority Leader since 2006. Her legislative priorities have been about fighting for working families, including health care reform, early childhood education, and consumer safety. Clark’s campaign has already attracted significant endorsements from the Labor community, Minnesota leadership such as Congresswoman Betty McCollum and former Vice President Walter Mondale, and organizations like womenwinning.  Roxanne ConlinRoxanne Conlin is running for U.S. Senate in Iowa. From an early age, Conlin experienced the hardships that many Iowa citizens face and has spent her life fighting to make the state better for women and families. As an Assistant Attorney General for Iowa, Conlin fought public corruption and wrote the first law of its kind protecting rape victims. As the long-time owner of a small law firm, Conlin has dedicated her work to representing those who do not have a voice. She has also served as U.S. Attorney in Iowa and earned the Democratic nominee for Governor in 1982. Conlin lives in Des Moines with James, her husband of 46 years.   Suzan DelBeneSuzan DelBene is running for Congress in Washington’s 8th District. A technology executive and Puget Sound software entrepreneur for over 20 years, she is running to bring small-business accountability to Washington. DelBene spent 14 years at Microsoft, most recently serving as Corporate Vice President of the Mobile Communications Business. She has also served as Chief Executive Officer and President at Nimble Technology Inc. and was the founding Vice President of Marketing and Store Development at drugstore.com inc., an online pharmacy. DelBene is a consultant to public and private-sector companies, and most recently worked as a strategic advisor to Global Partnerships, a non-profit focused on supporting microfinance and sustainable solutions that serve those in poverty in Latin America. Betsy Dennigan

 Betsy Dennigan  is running for Congress in Rhode Island's 2nd District. As a nurse, attorney, and thirteen-year veteran of the Rhode Island State House of Representatives, Dennigan has made job creation and retention - especially in the areas of new manufacturing and biotechnology - a priority during these difficult economic times. She is the author of the Green Buildings Act and recently brought environmental stakeholders and business interests together to discuss how they can work to benefit both businesses and the environment. Colleen HanabusaState Senate President Colleen Hanabusa State Senate President Colleen Hanabusa is running for Congress in Hawaii's 1st District. In the May 22nd, 2010 Special Election for this seat, Hanabusa was the top vote-getter among Democrats. Since being elected to her current position, Hanabusa has served several roles, including the Chair of the Senate Committee on Water, Land & Hawaiian Affairs, Vice-President of the State Senate and Vice-Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means. Lois HerrLois Herr is running for Congress in Pennsylvania's 16th District. Active in the Democratic Party, Herr was the endorsed 2004 and 2006 Democratic candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania's 16th Congressional District. She was elected a delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention and is an elected local committee leader for the Democratic Party and member of the State Democratic Party Committee. Joyce JohnsonJoyce S. Johnson is running for Congress in New York’s 15th district. Councilwoman Beth KromBeth Krom is running for U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 48th District. Krom previously served as the Mayor of Irvine from 2004 until she was term-limited out of office. Anne McLane KusterAnn McLane Kuster is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Hampshire (2nd District).  Partner in the Concord, N.H. law firm of Rath, Young and Pignatelli, Kuster is Director of the firm's Education and Non-Profit Law Practice Group. Kuster focuses her legal practice primarily on nonprofit, education, and health policy. In recent years, she has been active in a number of significant health and education policy issues, including the creation of the N.H. Medication Bridge Program and the N.H. UNIQUE College Savings Program. Julie LassaSenator Julie Lassa is running for Congress in Wisconsin’s 7th District. Lassa was elected to the State Assembly in 1998 serving until 2003 when she won a special election to the State Senate. In the legislature she has focused on enhancing job creation, promoting small business, strengthening educational opportunities, and protecting children. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point she worked as Executive Director of the Plover Area Business Association. In that role she worked closely with local small business owners to promote the greater Plover area.  As the Chair of the Senate Economic Development committee Lassa recently wrote the Wisconsin C.O.R.E. Jobs Act – a job creation package that was signed into law to help put Wisconsin back on the road to economic recovery. Lassa also wrote a new law to pool the state’s allotment of unused federal Recovery Zone Facility Bonds which has the potential of creating 600 new green energy jobs in central Wisconsin as well as spurring new job growth around the state. Elaine MarshallSecretary Elaine Marshall is running for U.S. Senate from North Carolina. In 1996, Marshall was elected to serve as North Carolina Secretary of State, making her the first woman to hold statewide office in that state. She is now in her fourth term as Secretary of State, and has been credited with the modernization of her office and the reform of state lobbying laws. In her former position in the North Carolina State Senate, Marshall made women’s issues a priority, sponsored bills combating domestic violence, improving rape crisis services, and supporting social workers. Natalie MosherNatalie Mosher is running for U.S. Congress in Michigan’s 11th district. Mosher has successfully served as Director of the National Retiree Volunteer Coalition, a program under Volunteers of America, where she helped make the group a national expert on retiree volunteerism. Mosher also served as Chief Development Officer of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, which was created to establish, operate, and maintain a series of parks and green spaces along Detroit’s Riverfront. As a native of Detroit and graduate of Michigan State University, Mosher is a problem-solver and a passionate advocate who will lean on her life experiences to create and protect Michigan jobs, reform health care, empower teachers by transforming No Child Left Behind, and restore America’s commitment to strengthening Main Street small businesses. Terri SewellTerri Sewell is running for U.S. House of Representatives from Alabama’s 7th District. If elected, Sewell would be the first woman to serve in Congress from Alabama. Sewell was born and raised in Selma and her family has deep roots in the 7th District. Sewell has distinguished herself professionally as one of the only black public finance lawyers in the State of Alabama, and the first black female partner at her firm. As a lawyer, she helps to raise money for public projects for some of the state’s most under-served public entities, including the City of Selma, Dallas County Water Authority, and Lowndes County Board of Education. Sewell has made community service a cornerstone of her law career and her personal life and has served on the boards of numerous community organizations.
