Happy Hour: The Hill’s Got Talent
You've heard America's Got Talent, but we've got news for you...the Hill's Got Talent, too!
Our happy hour to celebrate the women Rising Stars on the Hill was a huge success.
Thank you to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, who provided us with such a lovely space.
We look forward to continuing to celebrate the great work of women staffers on the Hill in the years to come!
We honored the Inaugural Hill's Got Talent Class of 2009: Toasting to Next Generation female staff members who have gone above and beyond their usual duties—highlighting them as some of the most promising rising stars of the political arena.
This program also emphasized the importance of mentoring and networking for women in politics—helping us to foster the growth and leadership of women on the Hill and beyond.
If you're a woman between the ages of 21-35 and would like to attend future WCF Special Programs, become a Next Generation Member here.
Our Special Guests and Bartenders were tenured luminaries of the DC
world - available to give advice and help our guests make connections. Representatives Dina Titus and James McGovern attended, joining in as we toasted to our future leaders.
Special Bartenders and Guests included: Edie
Fraser, Chair of the Diversity Executive Search Practice and Managing
Director of Diversified Search Ray & Berndtson; Dean Thomas,
National Beer Wholesalers Association; Dr. Jeanette Harris,
“Living Legend” and designated DC historian; and Dr. Avis
Jones-DeWeever, Director of the National Council of Negro Women's
Research, Public Policy, and Information Center.
Many thanks to the 2009
WCF partners who make all of our programs possible, including our award-winning She Should Run™ program.
