WCF Names Robin Talbert as First Executive-in-Residence
Robin Talbert, former President of the AARP Foundation and an accomplished executive who is passionate about achieving political equality for women, has joined WCF as its first Executive-in-Residence. Talbert brings to WCF a demonstrated ability to lead, innovate, and influence. She has excelled in developing partnerships, leading change, focusing resources, and building organizations that benefit individuals and society. She will work with WCF staff and Board of Directors to enhance the organization’s impact, serving as both an advisor and ambassador.
As political venture capitalists, WCF works to advance women leaders at all levels of political participation and empower individuals to stand up for issues of critical importance to the health of the nation, including reproductive health. As an extension of our current Fellowship program, the Executive-in-Residence program is geared to highly qualified professionals looking to immerse themselves in the important work of WCF.
Most recently, Talbert served as President of the AARP Foundation, providing strategic leadership for a national team of staff and volunteers who serve millions of low income older Americans each year with an annual budget of over $140 million. She serves on the boards of Help Age International/USA, the Center for Responsible Lending, and the Women’s Leadership Board at the Harvard Kennedy School. She is also on the leadership committee for the Political Parity Project sponsored by Hunt Alternatives Fund, and serves as a volunteer mediator with the DC Superior Court. Talbert has been a speaker at numerous conferences as well as on television and radio, and has authored articles on topics including dispute resolution, philanthropy, and consumer rights.
A former legal services attorney, she received her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She and her husband, Bruce Goldstein, reside in Silver Spring, Maryland and are the proud parents of two sons.
