2008 Election Results

Together, we did it. The 2008 elections were a banner year for pro-choice women running for office.
With the elections of Women's Campaign Forum stars Kay Hagan (NC) and Jeanne Shaheen (NH), we reached an all-time high of 17 women in the U.S. Senate. Unlike the incumbents they unseated, these are women proud to fight for our right to choose.
With a few special elections and a tremendous November 4th, we added at least 11 pro-choice women to the House (and perhaps as many as 13 after recounts finish!), the first woman Governor to the state of North Carolina, and even more victories in state and local races as diverse as State Treasurer to State House to Public Service Commission.
