Our Mission
Pro-Choice Women ... Empowered and In Power
WCF, founded in 1974, is a non-partisan national network dedicated to achieving parity for women in public office. As political venture capitalists, we work to advance women leaders at all levels of political participation and empower individuals to stand up for issues of critical importance to the health of the nation, including reproductive health.
WCF is unique among women's organizations. We recruit, train, launch and support pro-choice women to run for office beginning in their earliest days in politics. We also build a national network of women voters, donors and activist whose efforts and venture capital ensure women's voices are heard.
Through our affiliated Political Action Committee, WCF provides direct financial support to its endorsed candidates. And through our sister organization, WCF Foundation, we produce original research relevant to women in politics.
We are proud that our work of bringing new pro-choice women into the political process and supporting them as they advance has created real impact - a growing network of women whose common cause is finding and implementing solutions to the country's greatest challenges.
We believe that gender parity for women in public office is essential to the strength and future of our nation.
