Equal Opportunity Is In Your Hands
80 years. That's how long we'll have to wait until there is equal representation in government. Hath no fear, because we can speed this up with "economic participation and opportunity worldwide." In other words: Time to hop on the equal opportunity bandwagon, y'all.

Gaps On Gaps
A new study shows that the gender gap in political ambition starts as early as freshmen year of college. Why? 'Cause college-age women are not encouraged to run as much as college-age men. I guess we could ask women to run OR change the way society views women leaders. I personally like both options.

State Of The Women
Obama's speech last night was full of optimism...but also reminded the nation that many women still don't have paid sick leave, affordable childcare, and access to healthcare. Oh, and equal pay. In the words of POTUS himself: "Really? It's 2015. It's time."

Seriously, Where Are They?
Not all trends are good, and erasing women from the picture seems to be a growing one. Literally

2008 Is The New 2016
Yesterday marked the anniversary of Hillary's presidential campaign announcement. Clinton said 8 years ago, "I'm in to win.” Even though it's several years later, I doubt the message has changed.

#AskHerMore!
Awards season is in full swing, so you know what that means! Time for some sexism on the red carpet. Questions like: "How much do you workout?" and "What are you wearing?" are gettin' reaaaaal old. How about more questions like: "What role are you proudest of?" or "What goes through your mind when you're asked egregiously sexist questions?"

Seriously Snubbed
If you were a woman director, screenwriter or cinematographer this year, you probably weren't nominated for an Oscar. Sure, you may have directed one of the BEST freakin' films of the year (cough, cough Ava DuVernay) but ya just were overlooked. It doesn't add up, until you look at the Academy voters—and then sadly it does.

Misogyny Managed
Last week, a wonderful human on Buzzfeed decided to make Hermoine Granger the main character in the Harry Potter series. It is WAY shorter than all 7 books, which comes as no surprise. Granger gets stuff done.

Easiest Quiz EVER
You may be sick of being asked "Are you a feminist?" Maybe you don't like the word or you don't understand exactly what it means. Well, take this quiz and you will probably emerge a feminist. If you don't...hopefully it's because you misread one of the questions.

  • ★ 50/50 Representation

Why should good government depend on only half of the nation’s human capital? WCF commits to 50/50 representation of women and men in elected office by 2028.

  • ★ Common Ground

Common ground just means problems get solved more collaboratively, for the good of more people. It’s the bedrock of our leadership at home and abroad.

  • ★ Viability for Election

It takes more than money to make a candidate worth electing. WCF looks for guts, street sense, situational awareness, resilience -- the full range of gifts a woman brings to the race.

  • ★ Non-Partisan

A woman’s place is in every party, every elected office, at every level. Period.
